Matthew Conrad, a financial manager at Complete Wealth Management in
Orange County, Calif., says he knows of people who drive a BMW or
Mercedes and eat macaroni and cheese for dinner several nights a week.
Yeah, but it’s imported Italian macaroni, 4 kinds of cheese, topped with panchetta, washed down with a nice Pinot Grigio. And I did buy a new Blue-Ray player at the Circuit City Grand Going Out of Business Sale. And my used BMW only had 9100 miles on it when I bought it. OK, we did toast the Steelers victory last night with domestic champagne.
Update (15 February). Looks like eating mac ‘n’ cheese at home is really catching on. MM misses the economic kicker of home-cooking: here in Texas at least, there’s no sales tax on food.
As usual, the Instapundit was ahead of me on this.
