Use the Cloud at your peril

Microsoft ‘fesses up to what everyone with half a brain knew already: Uncle Sam, wielding the Patriot Act*, can glom on to any and all of your data stored out on the Cloud.  Not to mention assorted hackers, rogue server-farm employees, implausibly denied oriental cyberwarriors, and careless mooks who misplace laptops full of unauthorized downloads.  Only a sucker stores private data on the cloud–it’s about as secure as email.

Tip from the Instapundit, who continues to regret voting for John McCain.

    1. The Cloud is great for lecture notes and stuff to share with students, but I draw the line at putting any personal data or original intellectual property out there. Who knows where it might end up?
